A Gentleman is Equestrian

December 17th, 2008

After a long day nestled in velvet box seats at the famed Saratoga racetrack, winning risky bets, correctly identifying attractive married women and drinking refreshing bourbon directly out of the Man ‘o War cup, a gentleman is easily swept up in the grandeur of it all and quickly falls in love with all things horse racing. Its only natural that a gentleman will entertain notions of purchasing his own horse farm, and possibly even building his own racetrack, replete with a Gentleman’s Stakes race that will give the Travers Stakes, the Belmont Stakes and the Kentucky Derby all a run for their money, so to speak. Wanting to make haste with his plan, the gentleman may begin testing his own mettle on the athletic beasts that very evening, and will display his equine prowess in the most graceful of manners.

  1. The cigarettes are really what makes this for me.

  2. My thought was that a true gentleman might want to find pleasure in the artificial horse surigate – the proper mount, as it were.

  3. [...] you’re not reading The Foggy Monocle, you’re a raging loser, among other things. Nice find on a blackout in suit getting his ass [...]

  4. As a Saratoga native, I have to say I’ve never been more proud of my hometown.

  5. Where do you think they were? Caroline St. Bistro? The Parting Glass?
